Matt Shaheen serves as County Commissioner for Precinct 1, representing Plano and Frisco on the Collin County Commissioners Court. Mr. Shaheen’s background is in Technology and Management Consulting with a history of delivering results. Married for fifteen years, Matt and his wife Robyn have three children – Celia, Abby, and Sam – and a yellow lab named Sadie. A resident of Plano where he attends Prestonwood Baptist Church, Matt has more than 19 years of professional experience, including 10 years at EDS.

A former Appointee of Governor Rick Perry to the State Board of Social Workers, Mr. Shaheen chaired the board’s Professional Development Committee and also served on the Ethics Committee. Mr. Shaheen’s involvement in the Republican Party includes:

• Founding Chairman of the Ronald Reagan Conservative Society
• Delegate to Republican State Conventions
• Former Precinct Chair
• Former Election Judge
• Past Board Secretary of the Collin County Republican Men’s Club

Long active in community and civic affairs, Mr. Shaheen served as the Chairman of the Plano Community Relations Committee and as a Commissioner of the Plano Transition and Revitalization Commission. Mr. Shaheen currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Colonial PGA Golf Tournament.

A native of Virginia, Mr. Shaheen received his Bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College, where he received All Conference honors in football in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Mr. Shaheen also holds a Master’s degree from SMU.
