Commissioner Kathy Ward has been Collin County Commissioner, Precinct 4, since November 2008, and a conservative leader for almost two decades, including being the first woman elected to serve as Collin County Republican Party Chairman. Kathy has also been an active civic volunteer since her high school days. She was recognized for her leadership and contributions to Collin County by Inside Collin County Business as a recipient of the prestigious "21 Leaders for the 21st Century" award for the Class of 2006. She was also recognized by Inside Collin County Business as one of the "2008 People of Influence."
Kathy resides with her husband and two children in Plano and is a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She considers her children her greatest gift from God and they remind her everyday why she does what she does.
