NEW! Genealogy Corner
County Clerk Stacey Kemp has come up with a great tool for those documenting their Collin County roots. The archive of marriage licenses, dating back 126 years, can be searched from the all new Genealogy Corner. More than 8,000 licenses, dating from 1884 to 1949, have been scanned and indexed, and are now searchable online. But we went one step more: for those who'd like a copy of these licenses for a project or family album, there are three different options that are available for a small fee.
Take a moment to stroll through Collin County’s past. You may be surprised at the treasures you’ll find.
NEW! Now offering new payment options at our McKinney and Plano locations!
Stacey Kemp, Collin County Clerk is pleased to provide you with the option of paying for birth certificates, death certificates, assumed names, and land recordings using your credit or debit card. When you visit our office you can now use your Discover, American Express and MasterCard credit or debit card to pay for your transactions. For more information please call us at 972-548-4185.
Please Note: Due to Visa rules and regulations we are not permitted to accept Visa credit or debit cards for non-taxable transactions.
A 2.5% convenience fee, with a one dollar minimum, will be posted to your credit or debit account.
Why do you charge a convenience fee?
This is actually a fee that is charged by credit card companies and the payment processor. Collin County does not keep any portion of the convenience fee. Unlike a retailer, Government agencies are unable to absorb the fees, so we have to pass it to those who choose this type of payment. Unfortunately, the fee is necessary in order for us to enable our customers the choice of paying by a credit or debit card. Cash and check payments are also accepted if you do not want to pay the convenience fee.
