The jurisdiction is set by the state legislation.The County Courts at Law file all misdemeanor class A & B criminal cases, class C appeals and civil law suits with the jurisdictional limit of $500.00 - $100,000.00

Trust Handling Fees - Texas Local Government Code states that when the County Clerk is ordered to release funds from the Court Registry all transactions processed will be assessed a trust handling fee.
