Historical Asset Survey

Historical Asset Survey

Preserving Our History, One Asset at a Time

For the first time in Texas, a county-wide survey and cataloguing of all local historical assets has been accomplished.

Now, by accessing the survey, you can look up what and where our local historical buildings, sites, markers and other assets are.

Though this is a work in progress (meaning that it will be updated as new assets are found), years of work have gone into the research, data input, mapping and program design required to provide this feature to you. This project, a joint effort of the Collin County Historical Commission, Collin County’s GIS and IT departments, and a large group of volunteers around the county, is one very important tool for the historical preservation and education efforts in Collin County. It becomes even more critical to identify and publish our local historical assets as Collin County continues to be one of the fastest urban-developing counties in America.

You can help too: if you are aware of a historical asset that isn’t included in this survey, please complete the Historical Asset Survey Form and send it to us via email or U.S. mail at:

Collin County Historical Commission
2300 Bloomdale Rd, Suite 4192

Please enjoy exploring this survey, share it with others, and even visit some of the sites listed. It’s your county, so enjoy it’s present and past!
