The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for:
Directing and coordinating responses for disasters, emergencies, and
threat assessment of terrorism including bioterrorism.
Managing courthouse security staff and the Fire
Marshal's department.
Building coalitions with local law enforcement,
fire departments, government entities and appropriate public or private
organizations necessary to develop, implement and respond to security
and emergency concerns.
Developing and managing state and federal grant
funding for emergency management, homeland security and bioterrorism
programs.
