Timothy
P. Shea was named Network Director for the VISN 17 VA Heart of Texas Health
Care Network on January 6, 2008, which includes three integrated health
care systems - VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas; Central Texas
Veterans Health Care System in Temple; and, South Texas Veterans Health
Care System in San Antonio.
Prior to serving as the VISN 17 Acting Network Director,
Mr. Shea served as the Director of the South Texas Veterans Health Care
System. With an annual budget in FY07 of $500 million, Mr. Shea was
responsible for the daily operations of the Audie L. Murphy Division,
Kerrville Division, and the Satellite Clinic Victoria Clinics. His
leadership skills have earned him the highest honor in the civil service,
the 2006 Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive.
Mr. Shea has also served as Medical Center Director
of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock,
Arkansas from January 2005 to August 2006. As Medical Center Director,
Mr. Shea had direct line responsibility and full accountability for
managing all activities in the health care delivery system, which
included a two-campus medical center.
Mr. Shea holds a Bachelor of Science from the
University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Masters of Science in Health
Care Administration from Central Michigan University. He is a Fellow
and Certified Healthcare Executive (FACHE) by the American College
of Healthcare Executives.
Mr. Shea is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps
and is a native of Omaha, Nebraska.
